JKRP knows Mentoring

Dave Urffer and Nichole Howell have recently been recognized by ACE Mentoring as outstanding mentors! Nichole was named mentor of the month for April and Dave was awarded the Mentor of the Year award at their annual breakfast at the Crystal Tea Room.  Nichole has been mentoring ACE students alongside Dave for the last 4 years. For those of you that may be unfamiliar with ACE, ACE stands for architecture, construction and engineering and the program helps expose high school students to careers in the ACE industry. Every other week for the entire school year, students get to experience a professional office within each profession and hear about what an architect or engineer actually does during any given day.  The students then get to complete a project and present it to their peers at the end of the year using everything they have learned.  Dave has been involved with ACE since its founding 13 years ago and has been a part of the board for the past two years.  He still rolls up his sleeves each year and helps lead a team of students, and he still has time to mentor everyone within the office on how to be a true professional.  Congrats to both Dave and Nichole!
