Senior Project Architect

Email LinkedIn

Michael, or Mike, or Buckley is from a small town north of Syracuse, NY ( almost Canada ) He earned his undergraduate degree up north at SUNY Buffalo ( again, almost Canada ). Buckley came to Philly in 2012, completed graduate school at UPenn, and joined JKRP Architects in the summer of 2014. He has enjoyed living in Philadelphia ever since.

Michael has an affinity for existing buildings. And luckily his work includes a few adaptive reuse projects: Waverly Court, Falls Bridge Lofts, and Hancock Lofts – a historic ribbon factory conversion in Kensington that is currently on the boards. He’s had the pleasure of working on townhomes as well with experience on Museum Estates and Adagio II.

Buckley is no stranger to variety, working on multiple entertainment projects: Compass Entertainment Complex in Virginia, Cinepolis movie theatres in West Hartford, CT & Mansfield, and is currently underway a premier theatre outside of Atlanta that features an open-air, rooftop theatre.

Michael recently said goodbye to his former, beloved bicycle commute and now resides in Cherry Hill – a short train ride away. He enjoys obsessing over food: cooking an incredible steak is a common weekly occurrence for Mike. Buckley likes to keep active whether that means going to the gym, enjoying a hike, or riding his bike.

Above all, Michael values hard-headed qualitative reasoning. He believes in perseverance. And is always ready to learn.
