Panama IMAX
Panama Canal
Adjacent to the Miraflores Locks on the Panama Canal, this new single screen, 19,000 square foot theater will be the first IMAX theater in South America. The 467 seat IMAX will serve as a dedicated theater to the canal’s visitor center during business hours, showing “Panama: A Land Divided, a World United” in 3D. After hours it will serve as a first run theater, showing feature films on the IMAX screen. The theater’s new glass enclosed entry vestibule engages the steeply sloped site and brings visitors from the low side of the canal embankment up to the existing visitor’s center where they can view the action of ships traversing the canal.
