MLK Day(s) of Service

By: Armando Ramirez January 30, 2023 No Comments

In honor of MLK day this month, JKRP staff volunteered with five impactful organizations in Philadelphia. We want to thank each of them for hosting us and look forward to supporting their efforts in the future. We encourage you to check out the links below for more information on these nonprofit groups and to learn more about how you can contribute to making a difference in our community. If you would like to partner with JKRP for future volunteer opportunities, please contact Jen Whary at jwhary@jkrparchitects.com.

PAWS Philadelphia

As Philadelphia’s largest rescue partner, PAWS’ programs, including foster and adoption services, save and serve our community’s most vulnerable pets. JKRP volunteers helped the PAWS Old City Adoption Center team by cleaning holding cages, meet and greet rooms, and the merchandise area along with spending some quality time with some of the older cats who are up for adoption.

Morris Animal Refuge

Morris Animal Refuge provides a full range of preventative, protective, and adoption services for homeless animals. JKRP volunteers helped with a shelter reorganization project and had the opportunity to spend one-on-one time
with the resident cats and dogs.

Philly House

Philly House aims to serve those experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia with meals, shelter, and service.
JKRP volunteers cleaned spaces in the emergency shelter and were excited for the opportunity to serve lunch to guests.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Philadelphia

The Ronald McDonald House supports families who are traveling for pediatric care with temporary lodging, transportation, meals, and social services. As part of RMH’s weekly Community Service Project, JKRP volunteers cleaned and organized the cafeteria space for guest families.

PSPCA

The PSPCA rescues animals from cruelty, rehabilitates them, and finds safe homes for them. JKRP volunteers prepared and distributed enrichment activities for the pups and were lucky enough to spend some fun one-on-one time with resident sweetheart, Trina (who is still looking for her forever home!).
