About the Project
The Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium at Liberty Science Center features one of the largest planetarium domes in the world, creating a fully immersive environment for education, scientific visualization, and entertainment. The 89-foot dome is paired with advanced projection technology and a 30,000-watt sound system to deliver an unparalleled audiovisual experience. Adjacent to the planetarium, the Weston Lab is enclosed within a glass gallery, where visitors encounter Science on a Sphere, an interactive visualization system developed by NOAA that presents real-time Earth science data and astronomical content. Together, these spaces create a dynamic destination for exploration, discovery, and STEM education.
