JKRP Architects reimagined Harbor East Cinemas as a luxury entertainment destination through a comprehensive renovation that elevated both the guest experience and the theater’s brand identity. The project included a full recliner seating conversion, redesigned lobby and concession spaces, an expanded bar and food service program, and upgraded circulation areas throughout the facility. At the heart of the renovation is the Presidential Lounge, a multipurpose cinema and live performance venue featuring a full stage, theatrical lighting, and audiovisual infrastructure. Inspired by vintage theater design, the space layers rich velvet drapery, decorative metal panels, ornate lighting, and dramatic finishes to create an immersive experience that distinguishes Harbor East from the traditional multiplex model.
