Green Leaf at Cheltenham

Philadelphia, PA

Cheltenham Mall opened in 1959 to much acclaim and has changed its look many times since then to adapt to changing shopping habits. The mall was enclosed in 1981 and since then has never regained the prestige it once had. The addition of a Home Depot and Target store further complicated the flow around the shopping center. JKRP and the developer decided the best remedy would be to “demall” the building and create a car centric but walkable shopping destination, the center has been renovated and rebranded as Greenleaf at Cheltenhm.
