Plymouth Square

Plymouth Square is a 287,000 sf shopping center in Conshohocken PA, an increasingly popular suburb of Philadelphia. The property is anchored by Weis Markets, REI and Planet Fitness and features several national brands including Five Guys Burger and Fries, Qdoba and Rite Aid. JKRP was tasked with renovating the existing façade and reinvigorating the underutilized north end of the shopping center. The steeply sloping site presented challenges and unique opportunities. By adding a large staircase, elevator, and glazing that cuts through the corner of the “L” shaped building, pedestrians are now physically connected from the north end of the site to the rest of the shopping center. This connection allowed for the leasing of previously underutilize space on the lower level on the north side of the building and provided access to much needed additional parking. A local bar and restaurant chain will occupy the newly renovated corner space that connects the two ends of the center further reinforcing pedestrian activity. JKRP also designed several interior fit outs for new tenants including the North Region headquarters for Brixmor, the owner of the center, and the Philadelphia Gymnastics Center.
