Deidre DeAscanis, AIA

Managing Principal

Deidre joined JKRP in 2002 and became the managing principal in 2025. In addition to managing the firm, she has been involved in a wide variety of some of the firm’s most notable work. Her current concentration is in the design of residential, commercial, and historic renovation projects.

One of Deidre’s first projects in which she played a significant role was the renovation of the formal Naval Home in Philadelphia; a sprawling campus of derelict buildings which involved the restoration and conversion of historic Biddle Hall into luxury condominiums. The project was awarded a Citation of Merit by AIA Pennsylvania in 2007 and received a 2008 Grand Jury Award by The Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia. Other historic renovation projects of note that Deidre has been involved with include: Presser and Nugent Senior Apartments in Mt. Airy, which both received Grand Jury Prizes from the Preservation Alliance; The Icon at 1616 Walnut Street, which was originally designed as an office building and was converted into over 200 market rate apartments;  The Griffin, which was the conversion of the Avenue of the Arts building on the corner of Broad and Chestnut Streets in Philadelphia, into 217 luxury apartments; and the Hale Building at the corner of Juniper and Chestnut Streets, which received a 2019 Grand Jury Award by The Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia.

Deidre has also completed several market-rate new construction mixed-use apartment buildings including 11 Cooper in Camden, New Jersey, York and Hagert in Kensington, Delaware and Front Street in Northern Liberties, and Coulter Place in Ardmore. Deidre is currently working on another mixed-use ground-up apartment building in Ardmore with Piazza and Radnor Property Group.

Deidre is married with two children. Outside of work, she spends most of her time on the sidelines watching her children play various sports. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time at the beach.
